The People

Our church family

We are a friendly, down-to-earth, group of people who collectively represent many nations of the world. And we value that diversity very much.

We love Jesus and want to live in the light of His love reflecting back on us. We are gentle with each other’s sharp edges, and work to smooth our own edges.

We  believe that  God intends for us to love others through service and love His creation by being good stewards of it.

When you visit Calvary Community Church, you can expect

  • A warm welcome, and a bit of conversation over the coffee pot after the service
  • A non-judgmental atmosphere
  • Good sermons that focus on how to apply Gods’ guidance in the Bible to the everyday problems of life.
  • Connections that go beyond Sunday and into regular church activities throughout the year.

You don’t need to know how to ‘do’ church at CCC. Just come!

Worshipping together

We’ve all walked into that worship service for the first time, not sure of what to expect.  Our time of worship is open to all ages and we invite you to come, bring a coffee and join us as we collectively offer up all of our worship to the one true God. Our songs include contemporary worship, as well as some hymns, with the focus on bringing glory, honor and praise to Jesus our Savior.

Worship can be a time of renewal, repentance, thanksgiving, adoration, joy or listening to God speak through the music, scripture readings or prayer time. Psalm 103: 1 talks about praising the Lord with our “innermost being”.  We will fall in love with Jesus more and more as we allow our hearts to fully engage in worshipping him.

Prayer time

Supporting one another

During our Sunday morning service, we like to take time to support one another as a church family through prayer.  Anyone in the church can share their request for prayer and their concern will be lifted up in prayer by the person leading the prayer time.

There is always the opportunity for personal prayer after the service with the pastor or from one of our leaders.

Usually the first Sunday of the month

Once a month we celebrate the Lord’s Supper (communion) during our morning service.  The Lord’s Supper was initiated by Jesus just prior to His crucifixion.  It is an ongoing reminder for His followers of the significance of His body that was broken for us and His blood that was shed for the forgiveness of our sins.  Anyone who is a follower of Jesus is welcome to participate in the Lord’s Supper.  It is a special time where His Spirit works in our lives as we are directed Scripturally to examine ourselves prior to partaking (1 Corinthians 11:27-29).  It is often in those special times of reflection that our spirits are renewed and refreshed by God as we experience His grace, forgiveness, healing, direction to make things right with others, restoration, and much more as He meets us.

Sandwich Sunday

Usually the first Sunday of the month

Come and join us the first Sunday of the month and share a meal together.  Sharing a meal is a great way to meet each other and to build relationships with one another.

Children’s Church

Part way through the morning service

Part way through our service our children are invited to come to the front of the church.  The children are then led in a story and a prayer prior to being excused from the main service to attend children’s church.
