My family and I moved to Yellowknife in August 2016.  I am originally from Winnipeg, lived briefly in the lower mainland and have lived in Edmonton prior to moving up north.  I am married to Kim and have three children: Will, Daniel, and Abby.

For 14 years, I worked with men in recovery from addiction and compulsive behaviors at Hope Mission in Edmonton.  I have also journeyed with others by co-facilitating support groups for those who have experienced sexual abuse.  I have a heart for the broken and am told that I have good listening ears.  I love to encourage and to be a part of people going deeper in their relationship with God.

I am committed to showing the love of Jesus in my life to others.  I will be working to bring the good news to the city of Yellowknife in practical and meaningful ways.  We are looking to begin a Celebrate Recovery ministry in Calvary Community Church early in 2017.  This is a ministry for all who struggle with hurts, hang-ups, and habits and need a safe place of support to overcome them.  Celebrate Recovery is a Christ centered recovery program based on the Beatitudes in Matthew 5 of the Bible and parallels the 12 steps to recovery.

We are also looking at equipping the church to better model faith in their homes.  Throughout the year we will be endeavoring to have “Take it Home” events in which we will equip parents (and others like grandparents or church members who influence others) to model faith in their homes or to their extended family.

I am looking forward to exploring the outdoors around Yellowknife.  I especially love to fish and to cheer on the Edmonton Oilers & Eskimos,
